Hailey Treas Strings

Hailey Hatcher has been playing music for over 15 years. She received her masters in music performance from Wichita State University and her bachelors in music performance from Texas Tech University. She has performed at music festivals around the country, such as the Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival in Burlington, VT and the Castleman Quartet Program in Boulder, CO. Teaching and learning are two of her most prized passions and she hopes to spread the joy and importance of the arts to the youth community of Wichita. Hailey currently teaches privately and manages/performs with the Musical Elegance String Quartet.

Marcia Hatfield Strings

Marcia Hatfield teaches string instruments, and performs regularly as a Double Bassist with the Wichita Symphony Orchestra.  She performs as a freelance musician with several regional groups, and has performed as far away as Austria and Germany.  Mrs. Hatfield studied with Diana Gannett at Eastern Music Festival, and with Bruce Bransby at the prestigious Aspen Music Festival.  She earned degrees in Music Performance (BA) and Music Education (BME) from Wichita State University.  While at Wichita State, she studied bass with Paul Ousley and Mark Foley, and string pedagogy with Jacqueline Dillon.  She later earned Kodaly Certification through the WSU Graduate School.  Mrs. Hatfield holds a Kansas Teaching License for PreK-12 Music, and taught strings in grades 5-12 in the Wichita Public Schools for eight years.  She has been Bass Section Coach with the Wichita Youth Orchestras, Bass Specialist with NASAW (Wichita, KS) and the Cole Family Summer Music Festival at Southwestern College (Winfield, KS), and was Guest Conductor at the Goddard Summer String Camp (Goddard, KS). She was also a Guest Conductor for the Wichita All-City Orchestras one year, and Assistant Director three years. She currently teaches strings at Air House Music Academy, where she welcomes youth as well as adult students.

Mary Cooley Strings

Originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma, Mary Cooley has been playing the violin for almost thirty years and teaching violin lessons for nearly twenty years. Mary teaches music in the Wichita Public School system and played in the Friends Community orchestra. She currently performs in the Newton Mid-Kansas Symphony Orchestra. Mary enjoys all types of music and teaches the fundamentals of violin while tailoring lessons to each individuals skills and desires.
